Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to shop with us, whatever tools they use to browse.
Our commitment
Ribquinn is working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These are the standard most widely used to judge whether a website can be used by people with disabilities, and the one United States courts refer to.
We treat this as ongoing work rather than a box that has been ticked. Accessibility is reviewed when we change the storefront, and the checks below are re-run against the live site rather than assumed.
What we have done
Keyboard access
Every page starts with a “Skip to main content” link, and buttons, links and form fields show a clear outline when focused, so you can see where you are while tabbing.
Screen readers
Images carry descriptions, form fields have real labels rather than placeholder text alone, and icon-only controls — the quantity steppers in your basket, for instance — say what they do.
Legibility
Body text meets the 4.5:1 contrast minimum, pages carry a language attribute so screen readers pronounce them correctly, and headings run in a logical order.
Where we know we fall short
We would rather name these than let you discover them:
- We have not yet completed end-to-end testing with every major screen reader, so some journeys may be more awkward than they should be.
- Category banner headings sit over photographs. We darken the image behind them, but contrast there is not guaranteed on every image the way it is for body text.
- Payment is handled inside a secure component provided by Stripe, our payment processor. Its accessibility is maintained by them rather than by us.
- Some product descriptions and images come from the brands we stock, and their quality varies. We are improving these as we review each range.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of this site stops you doing something — buying an item, tracking an order, starting a return — please tell us. Describe what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and include the page address if you have it. It helps to know which browser and any assistive technology you use, though it is not essential.
We aim to reply within 3 business days. If something is blocking a purchase or a return, say so and we will deal with it by hand in the meantime, so you are never left unable to complete an order.
Formal complaints
If you are not satisfied with how we have responded, you may contact the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, which enforces the Americans with Disabilities Act, at ada.gov.
